For virtually every form of motor sport you intend to pursue, your first step will be to join a motor club recognised by the British governing body, MSA.
The Regional Association will be able to advise you of the most suitable club, either because that club meets near your home, or because it organises the type of events which you wish to do. (NB - kart racing has its own associations).

Formed in 1957, the Association of North-Western Car Clubs is one of 15 Motor Sport Associations set up across the UK, answerable to the governing body, the Royal Automobile Club Motor Sports Association (MSA UK) to administer and encourage motor sport in the area.
Geographically, our official area of responsibility it quite small, comprising Merseyside, Cheshire and the North-East of Wales. In reality our area of operation is extensive. We have over 80 member clubs who organise events far and wide, and we run 21 championships for the members of those clubs, covering most motor sport disciplines and catering for both novice and expert competitors.
We also have officials on MSA committees and a wealth of knowledge that we willingly share with our members.

The Association of Northern Ireland Car Clubs role has been to harmonise and assemble the dates, to promote the Northern Ireland Championships, to liaise with our own and other Governing bodies of the sport and with Government departments, Sports Councils, the Lottery Fund and other sources of grant aid. IN effect the ANICC is here to provide assistance and guidance to all our clubs and competitors in promoting our sport.
Our Motorsports Marshalling Partnership is aimed at attracting new marshals, and will reward those existing marshals who put most into the sport

Geographic Area: South West England

The ASWMC first came into being on the 9th of March 1957 to assist local motor clubs with group representation at the then RAC's Competition Department to safeguard their interests and activities. We were not the first Association as similar ones had been formed in the North in 1948 and the Midlands in the early 1950's. Back then we had just 21 member clubs, we currently have 78 member clubs making us one of the largest Regional Associations in the UK.
