SPRINTS

Sprints and Time Attacks, involve competitors pitting their skills against the clock on challenging courses, in cars ranging from  standard production, home made Specials to ex-Formula 1.

As well as purpose built venues some Sprints are run on Race Circuits providing excellent value for money running time.

Time Attack sees competitors in different classes on track at the same time, trying to cover a lap in the quickest time.

Contrary to popular belief, Time Attack is not just for high end tuners with large budgets, but attracts a large element of club competitors.

These are the sort of events that you can really feel part of, chat to the competitors and are an excellent way to get into the sport.

Sixteen years ago Avon Park International Racing Association was formed to help promote the sport and further the interests the venue it represents, Shakespeare County Raceway. As well as promoting drag racing events at championship level APIRA has played an active roll in establishing nostalgia racing in the UK as well furthering the cause of sportsman drag racing - the back bone of the sport. APIRA exists through a dedicated group of voluntary members who are involved in one of the quickest and fastest disciplines of motor sport in the world today but also provided a safe environment for the association's band of ‘hardcore' racers and supporting members to compete in.
